Therapy is an art.

The foundation of my therapy is based on the therapeutic relationship. I believe it is this relationship that allows for the power of evidence based interventions to blossom and transform lives.

I don't view people as their diagnoses. In fact, i believe that "pathologies" are better seen as dysfunctional behaviors that need to be identified as part of one's personal growth. Simply creating a diagnosis doesn't help you live a better life. Sometimes “symptoms” are inner yearning and desire for change. The relationships I create with my clients are built on empathy, compassion, and accountability. I challenge my clients and help them explore how they can create a life worth living based on values, meaning, and purpose. The skillset I have that sets me apart is my ability to ask the right questions to stimulate a deeper reflection of one’s own life.

My experience as a therapist has been largely in PHP (Partial Hospitalization) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient) settings. This means I have worked directly with a vastly diverse array of clients struggling with severe depression, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, and substance use. I have extensive experience teaching groups coping skills from Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These skills include tools for emotion regulation as well as techniques for settings boundaries, codependency,  communication, anger management, coping with grief and loss, and mindfulness. Regardless of intervention used, my approach to therapy is ultimately based on a psychodynamic, culturally sensitive, and mindfulness driven framework.

I specifically enjoy working with client issues pertaining to relationships, identity formation, spirituality and existential questions of life, grief, acculturation, work life balance, and academia. For those interested, I also offer a spiritual element in my treatment.

When you visualize the life you want, what do you see? What do you hear?  Are you ready to move one step closer towards that vision? Let's start the journey and help you lean into the discomfort. Let me help you create a  life that not only brings you joy, but a deeper sense of meaning.
