Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University – San Francisco Bay Area. She completed her internship at the Portia Bell Hume Center for Behavior Health and Training, a community mental health clinic in Northern California. She completed rotations in both the school-based early intervention program and the intensive-integrated community outpatient program. Dr. Rodriguez completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with substance abuse, eating disorders and adjustment disorders. She also has experience working with anxiety and depressive disorders, PTSD and trauma in adults, adolescents and children. Furthermore, she has experience working with Latino families and the LGBTQI+ community.
Dr. Rodriguez implements a number of therapeutic techniques in therapy based on the needs of the client. Treatment modalities include psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy, movement therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
Dr. Rodriguez lived in Mexico during her teenage years and enjoys traveling. She was also a university professor and loves teaching young adults about the wonderful world of psychology. She has also been known to geek out about comic books, Star Wars, Star Trek and all things Disney.
