Ms. Anya Green-Odlum is a nationally board-certified Physician Assistant who graduated with a Masters in Health Sciences from Duke University School of Medicine in 2008. She is a member of both Triangle Association of Physician Assistants (TAPA) and North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). Anya received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy, from Duke University as well.
She is originally from Oakland, CA, but grew up between the Bay Area and St. Lucia in the Caribbean where her father resides. Ms. Green-Odlum moved to NC for her undergraduate education at 17 years old and never left. She views the Triangle as her home.
She has practiced in different areas of medicine over the years as a PA, but feels mental health has been her most rewarding and gratifying experience. She understands unhealthy mental states are the foundation of so many other medical, social and occupational issues and that if a healthy mind is obtained, many other important aspects of peoples’ lives can fall into place.
In her free time she enjoys traveling the world and learning about different cultures and people. She also enjoys music, dance and the outdoors. One of her passions is participating in community outreach activities through her Duke Alumni group, church or local health promotion non-profit organizations. Another passion of hers is encouraging wellness through healthy eating, physical activity and lifestyle behavioral changes. Last but not least, she is a huge Duke basketball and Golden State Warriors fan!
Anya looks forward to being a part of the Adolescent Child and Adult Psychiatry family and developing long lasting relationships with her patients.
